1. WARNING: The Thrower’s main spring MUST be removed before installing the Auto-Clay retrofit kit to prevent an accident.

Remove the three (3) Release Lever mounting bolts and nuts. Do not discard the nuts, as they will be reused in Step 3.

Install one (1) of the bolts provided with retrofit kit in front hole. Partially thread nut onto bolt so Release Lever stays in place.
Slide Auto-Clay™ Retrofit assembly between Thrower and top piece of Release Lever.

Align rear holes with those in Auto-Clay™ aluminum channel, insert bolts, thread nuts onto bolts and tighten.

Rotate Thrower’s arm until it makes contact with Release Lever. NOTE! Make sure Main Spring is not installed.
Install aluminum clamp by inserting Release Lever into slot until it meets back of slot.
Adjust the aluminum clamp so it is 1" above the aluminum channel.

Check clearance between Release Lever (a) and Thrower’s Arm (b) by pulling back the Release Lever until it stops and lifting the Thrower’s arm up. Arm should just pass Release Lever. The travel is factory set.

However, if a travel adjustment is necessary, turn the solenoid rod clockwise or counter clockwise to achieve the desired travel.

Once the clearance between the Release Lever and the Thrower's Arm is correct, your Auto-Clay Retrofit is completed. Installation of the main spring can now be done.
